Ask yourself…What stands between me and God?
What prevents me from having a one-on-one relationship with the lover of my soul?
What is keeping me from my knees?
Why do I continue to think that I can do it on my own?
Why do I keep leaning to my own understanding?

Get up from your bed. Tip toe into the room just down the hall. The one painted blue…the one we just decorated with baseballs and horses…Gently crack open the door…
Lying just under those freshly cleaned, blue sheets, is a little soul.
Lean over the bed…get a closer look…
You can't see into the eyes because they are closed with sleep, but look into the heart…what do you see?

Do you really think in twenty-five years it will matter to him whether or not he had ten pairs of tennis shoes instead of one?
Do you think in twenty-five years it will matter whether I spent more than I made on video games and the latest game gear?
When he grows up - and has a family of his own…what will matter?
That I appeared to be very active at my job.
That I was on the elite committees at my corporation?
That I wore only the finest and most expensive fashions?
That I drove the most expensive car?
When he finds himself in trouble and in need of a mother's prayer…what will matter?

What then?
"Well, son…if I had only known then…what I know now…
I would have spent more time on my knees.
I would have made time before I left the house to spend time with God.
I would have said prayers before bedtime.
I would have said prayers on the way to school.
I would have commissioned angels to watch over you…
If I had known then…
I would have taught you to pray instead of how to work a computer.
I would have let you hear me pray.
I would have had family devotions…
If only I had know then…"
